I usually catch them in about 3-6 feet of water around cypress and ogeechee tupelo or in old hollowed out cypress stumps. When the water is high, the fish are spread out throughout the swamp. When the level comes down, the fishin gets right! The same held true back home in my younger days...
The water level at my normal spot was getting close to ideal, then two weeks ago we got hit with a ton of rain. I might give it a go this weekend anyway.
The BPS wildlife museum was closed for renovation when I went but there's a ton of mounts around the store that kept me busy. However, it's the gun museum is what I enjoyed the most.
If I draw Wyoming tags, my cost will go up a couple hundred dollars. If not, I do 90% of my hunting within 10 miles of home, so it won't affect much. Fishing on the other hand might hit hard. Boat gas (for offshore fishin) will tear a hole in your pocket quick.
