Bolts and pitons are old school. Being old myself, old school is not always bad. But climbing has progressed, and so has the hardware, past the point where bolts should be placed anymore. Personally, I find it high on the pucker factor to use any hardware I didn't place (or one of my friends...
Underground fence has worked well for us. Dogs pretty quickly learn the limits. The Halo system seems to be too early in the application of the technology - with the UG fence, you control the perimeter and as long as the power is on you are good. I also don't like yet another subscription...
Winter steelhead fishing is the best. Grew up reading about it as a kid in Tennessee, dreamed of doing it, then we moved to Oregon and I got to! Our hopeful move to ID will get us back at it, so much winter fun.

Joining in with the Merry Christmas wishes! Maybe so maybe not on the snow up here. Being a bit lazy, instead of prime rib we are doing steaks. Hope to see you next week!

Friend of mine had his buddy were hunting, his dad had let him drive the brand new pickup. Came across a cow like that, pulled up beside it, and decided they'd have to see what happened if they shot it. Poor choice of shooter, cow, and truck locations. The cow downright exploded, spraying my...
Well, the surgery is five and a half weeks in the rear-view window. Wondering how rehab has gone for some of you folks that have had this done in the past couple of years. I had this done back in 2007, and they didn't let me out of the sling or do any PT until six weeks had passed. This time...
How has your rehab gone? I had my surgery November 8, with similar repairs to yours. Six week anniversary is this coming Wednesday, noticeable increase in range of motion, basically zero strength at this point. This is better than my first SLAP surgery in 2007, when it was six weeks before I...
Very glad your conversation was peaceful. Next time might want to consider calling the Law first - the situation could have gone very differently.

That apparent immunity can turn right into anaphalaxis (did I spell it right) which will kill you drt. Talk to your doc - getting hit that many times may warrant carrying epi-pens (one often is not enough alone). Seriously, check with your doc.
I hate hornets.

I forget the shop that did my springs, likely the same place. Xterra springs had gone soft, they heat treated and added a leaf. Place started as a blacksmith shop back in the late 1800s or very early 1900s.
I drive the Xterra off and on just to remind myself how much smoother a log wagon...
I was about 33 or 34 when I killed my first one. 70 paces, with my scratch-built full stock .50 cal Hawken. As a matter of fact, all of my deer have been taken with open sights (in Central Oregon), elk with scoped rifle.

Here in CA dealing with the same topic, just a variation on the theme. Thankfully there is a will, both Ma and Pop are gone (Pop just passed). In a community property state, it all is still the survivor's. Easy peasy. But please convince her to get a will put together, best in a trust, and...
There is a Polar Ice machine, you put ice and water in it, and a shoulder "cuff" goes on your shoulder. Pumps ice water thru it, not super cold like an ice pack that can burn your skin, but just heavenly pain relief. You can find them on Ebay. Newer ones have a compression feature, that is a...
