    Wyoming General Elk

Went last year to WY in a general unit and killed a bull on day 2. Pressure was not that bad and saw a handful of other hunters while there. One guy and his son that I ran into, were nice enough to offer me help packing out the bull on their horses. That was a real God send as I was solo. My...

Is there a "point creep" solution?

Pretty sure that if we get the much feared recession that every economist is predicting we are doomed to get, we will see tag demand drop off significantly. This probably won’t help with the LE primo elite units, but for those guys like me who just like to hunt with a gen tag it certainly will...

Anybody Buying Yet? Where’s the Bottom?

This is definitely not just a blip, rather it’s likely to be a protracted bear market. That said, long-term there is no reason to bet against the USA and this period too will eventually be viewed as a buying opportunity…

    WY NR Elk Draw Results

My buddy and I drew gen elk tag with an average of 1 point between the two of us so we had to have drawn in the random. I am so stoked to hunt Wyoming again this year!

Base Camp Tent Options For a Family of 4

+1 for the Kodiak Canvas tent. I have the 10x14 super deluxe flex bow version (now called the VX model I think)and I like it more and more with each passing year. In addition to being excellent for winter camping, the super deluxe is great as a summer camper too since you can really open up...

Will they come out exactly on the 19th or sooner... What do you think?

Anybody Buying Yet? Where’s the Bottom?

We're probably heading lower, but it's anyone's guess where the bottom will be. Eventually though, we'll go higher and make new highs. Since I don't have a crystal ball, I continue to nibble on VOO with each major decline. I am not selling anything and remain in it for the long-haul. To...

    Kansas deer rifle or archery

I would go for archery last week of October and first week of November. The late November rifle hunt will be an inferior experience IMO.

    £¥€k what have I done

Went back and forth on whether or not to apply and ultimately decided against it, thereby forfeiting a PP. Already have a low probability elk tag app out in another state and if we fail to draw that, we will opt for antelope and mule deer tags elsewhere, for a near certain draw, given the...

Montana Preference Point Expiration MT HB637

So I guess if I am sitting on a MT PP now and don't apply this year (which will be the second consecutive year of not applying), I will lose that point. Nevertheless, I can buy another point during the PP only period this summer. Therefore, if I decide to hunt MT next year, I will have the new...

The Kentucky Elk EXPANSION - A RMEF Film

Thanks for that info. I wasn’t aware of the transferable landowner tags. Not a fan of that concept as it privatizes wildlife.

The Kentucky Elk EXPANSION - A RMEF Film

how would a tv hunter draw a tag every year with a permit system that is purely random? That’s one of the things I actually like about the KY system and they publicly state that they will never introduce a preference point system.

    Can I afford it?

As much as I detest Putin, the inflation problem would be raging regardless and was the most pressing issue in our country long before Russia started to amass troops on the Ukrainian border. Can’t pump trillions into an economy by way of handouts and not expect to create epic inflation. I mean...

    March Madness 2022

I’m just bummed about the Rutgers loss last night. That was an awesome game and a pity to exit 2 points down on the last second of double overtime 😩

    Toppers

I wouldn’t skimp on this and just go for the hard topper. They will last the lifetime of your truck and are well worth the investment. I have been running an ARE Z series on my F150 since I bought the truck back in 2016. By far best accessory I purchased for the truck, along with the bed rug...

    Tent recommendation

Also love the Kodiak flexbow tents. I have the 10x14 version pictured below going on the 4th season now. I've been through everything with it...wind, snow, ice, torrential rain, and all the way it's held up like a champ. Can't say enough good things about these tents.
