Great to see such a strong consensus that Shields is top notch. Can't wait for the one in Missoula to open. Used to be a big Cabela's guy starting back in the 90's before they turned into nothing more than a glorified clothing store.
I would have to look at home to figure out the brand I use, but small portable battery packs are available. Mine is about the size of your fist and cost in the neighborhood of $300, lasts two to three nights depending on how cold it is at night. There is definitely hope for you.
If this were 20 years ago I would say that you definitely have to eat at The Last Chance....sadly they closed long ago. Best Mexican food around. The Meeker Hotel menu has changed a lot over the years, too. Used to have excellent chicken fried steak but alas, nothing stays the same.
