Awesome story and write-up. Maybe I glanced over this, or it is inferred, but did the llamas take all 233lbs out plus camp? It seems you made it back out in one trip.
I'd probably start off with the Chase Sapphire Preferred. It currently has a record 80k signup bonus. The good thing about Chase points is that they have many transfer partners so you can use them as you see fit and aren't solely limited to an airline. You can use them for various airlines...
I've considered it for the last 5 years (40 now). I have large retinas so I'd only be a candidate for PRK. I can even get Uncle Sam to cover it, however I'm scared to take chances with my vision. Yes, I hate the expensive contacts, but I also had a friend of a friend have some serious...
Did some glassing with my son this past weekend and was surprised to catch these bucks on camera fighting. I was thinking it might be some light tine tickling and pushing, but you can see it was a bit more. BTW, my estimates on score were a bit off, but I was only looking at a 2" screen on my...
Good on your for taking ownership Randy. It's so easy to do with all the ridiculous rules (yes, not allowing lighted nocks is ridiculous). You can't have anything electronic mounted to your bow, which also makes filming difficult.
Best of luck this season!
First year elk hunting, I missed three bulls. First was a herd bull that we worked on for 2 days. Finally called him in and he came behind a bush. I had no shot and he saw my buddy and spooked I stopped him at 60+ and shot just under him. He was a giant bull. Two days later had another herd bull...
Definitely enjoyed the "Uncles" hunts this year. I can see them talking trash to each other now...you shot the wrong elk...,oh yeah, at least I hit one.
I've seen this question posed on multiple forums so I thought I'd share my thoughts here. Sorry for the length, I thought I could tell everything in under 10 mins.
Any of you former military members or children of military members can use USAA. I get 2.5% cashback on everything with their card. I use this for my cashback cards, but still find more value in the points/miles realm of cards.
Why not get a card that gives you cash back to use at your discretion (not solely Sportsmen's or somewhere else)? There are many cards that can certainly out-compete the return that the Sportsmen card can give you. The Amex blue cash preferred gives you 6% cash back on groceries and...
Depends on what you're looking for in a credit card (e.g. travel, cash back, hotel, etc...). I haven't paid for a flight in the last five years and I've traveled to many destinations and gone on many vacations that I'd never been able to afford if not for credit card points/miles. I'm currently...
Put together some footage from my elk season this past September. While, I didn't get any footage of the shots, I think you guys will enjoy nonetheless. Check out the surprise visitor in part 2!
