    Alone Season 8

This season has been the most difficult so far IMO. I think the producers knew exactly what they were doing. No net fishing for the first 45 days, no bear or squirrel hunting, no trapping, fish too deep to catch, limited forage. Calories are very tough to come by. I don't like the artificial...

Some recent tuna and deep dropping

I had a great trip last week. The tilefish are right at the tops for tablefare IMO.

    Cicadas?

Hence the boiling first and then the cooking. You wouldn't believe the amount of parasites in many of the fish that we eat.

    mrna and cwd?

Yeah, I had the displeasure of stopping by the both to discuss the science with them. I quickly found out that they had no clue what they were talking about.

    mrna and cwd?

Wow, hopefully I can clarify some of the misinformation on this thread. While there is a ton of promise for mRNA vaccines (e.g. think a personalized mRNA targeted to a cancer in your own body). I don't see a mRNA vaccine treating a human spongiform encephalopathy (e.g. Jakob-Creutzfeldt...

Idaho NR tags sold out date

Just about all tags sold out that first day that they went on sale back in December. Despite the significant price increase, the change in tag allocation per unit (still total number of NR elk tags, just limitations on units) caused hunters to buy their tags that day that they went on sale this...

Here's another video from way back that you might enjoy. FYI, the sika population on Assateague has almost been totally destroyed.

    Glacier NP trip

We headed there last Summer. Unfortunately, only a quarter of the park was open. We could only go as far in as Avalanche Creek. While that was a beautiful hike, we really wanted to see the other 3/4ths of the park. I'm debating going back this Summer, but if the Blackfoot keep the East side...

    Elk Carcass Trailcam

Not really sure what other mammals there may have been (wolves, mt lion?). Last year, we had a wolverine on the carcass (hence why I placed one this year). It was really fun to watch the wolverine work on the carcass day and night. That martin was there the morning we found the elk and came...

    Elk Carcass Trailcam

Not sure if you saw my elk hunt video, but he definitely scared me when I walked up on him at noon with just my buddy's 38 snubnose in my pocket.

    Elk Carcass Trailcam

We placed a trailcam on my elk carcass this year to see what would show up. See how many different animals you can spot.
