If you quarter something you’ll probably want to put it in some sort of bag to pack back to the truck. If you’ll only do it a couple times and not to far from the truck you can use a garbage bag. Yes, I know it doesn’t breathe and it will hold heat.
Myself and many others have and still use...
Man I hate a thief but at least your’s fessed up and looks innocent. My robberies are usually along the lines of:
Me: Babe where did you put my hunting stuff?
Babe: What hunting stuff?
Me: The hunting stuff I had on the table.
Babe: I don’t know. I moved a bunch of stuff into the cabinets and in...
4 hour round trip
$20 boat gas
$10 launch
$6 in bait
$4 in ice
And what you see before you is some of the finest and most expensive per pound piece of meat you can eat just barely making the keeper size.
And the dog loved the $4 ice when we got home.
While hunting pigs over a pond in the woods I noticed a couple deer slipping the edge of the pond in a thicket of tallow trees where the pond occasionally floods into. Found good last year rubs right there. Makes sense for them to use that edge rather than step through the opening of the pond to...
If you have to go up in size I’d recommend a good recoil pad. I couldn’t handle the recoil on my .308 light weight gun that kicked hard and sharp. I posted a similar thread and that was a few people’s recommendation. Since adding a limbsaver recoil pad the gun fits me better (I’m a taller lanky...
I think you’ll quickly get use to whatever you choose. I’ve shot a mix bag of safety styles on a right handed guns and shoot left handed. Can’t say I’ve ever had a shot delayed due to a trip up on trying to turn the safety off.
I've been burning a hole in my computer screen every chance I get thinking about where I want to be hunting come October. Near the last weekend of October for rifle opener to be exact. The area I have been hunting the past 2 years has been good to me. However last season taught me it gets way...
I was trying to take a photo of the large beaver pond and kept swatting horse flies. Normally I HATE all the banana spiders in the woods this time of year. But I appreciated this one.
A buddy of mine runs Laikas in a similar way. His first one was a good tree dog and then she started baying pigs on her own at 2 years old which he promoted. He has since picked up another one that comes from big game lines in Sweden or some other European country. He runs a wider range in his...
I think I was that 5% that it didn’t go as good as it should. They had to put the cup thingy back on and do the right eye a second time in the middle of the procedure. It had me laid up the whole weekend and even the next week was rough. Could barely keep my eyes open while riding in a vehicle...
Idk which more crazy. The fact the the head of Louisiana enforcement with quoted with “justice was served” or Montana possession limits hinder someone from living off of animals they legally kill within daily limits.
Edit: Actually I may have been wrong on my original thoughts on “possession...
Glad to see it pass. It is disappointing that neither Louisiana Senator and none of Louisiana’s Congressmen voted Yay for this. There was an article leading up to the Senate vote where politicians from LA wanted an amendment added that would use some of the money for coastal restoration...
Done. He and his wife seem like genuine people. Hope to experience one of the backcountry trips he outfits someday.
Praying for you and your family during this difficult time.
A good thief will notice the clash of the “no weed” stickers in that profile and know that it’s a hunter using the @wllm1313 undercover method. Probably had a buy 1 get 1 free offer at the bumper barn.
I see these posted regularly and usually the penalties are a slap on the wrist. Often times the fines don't equal going through an outfitter or landowner for a tag. Here's one where the fines still allowed the violations to be generously profitable. Profitable enough that even after receiving a...
