Departed two days late due to bow then hitch problems, but finally here at a Richfield hotel. Driving up to make camp tomorrow morning. Then some practice shooting, and scouting. -

Got a few last minute supplies in the mail last few days. One being a mini-Starlink. Last item is a portable generator to arrive Monday. Visited bow shop again for new bow sight tuning. Will start packing truck Monday. Can’t believe it’s already time to go. Departing Thursday morning. -

I have a local going to meet me there and show me some spots. He just called me today. He is seeing many studs already. Great antler growth. But he does not stand hunt. Originally was just going there to scout only this year & draw next, but a heart failure diagnosis advanced things. -

Yup I’ve been doing 40-50 apps/year since 1996, but have drawn only one random tag since 2012. Statistically should have drawn 5 or 6. No love in WY but that was just for a bonus as I got an Utah OIL tag in my pocket.- Zim

Maybe I read this post too fast but I don’t recall seeing the word “water” even once. Anytime I’m lope hunting, that’s the first thing I focus on. Finding water, preferably running streams. If I didn’t find any at first, I’d begin checking the more remote drainages further into the hunt. And... -
