Looking to book DIY Caribou 2024

I've been considering a caribou hunt myself and as someone already mentioned the outlook fir caribou isn't too good. I've been trying to get on 40 miles list for 4 years with no luck, really tough for a new customer. I've heard ok things about Tok air but as mentioned above he's pretty...

Leupold scopes love or hate em?

Was curious to see what folks on hunt talk thought about leupold scopes. Have you used many, were they reliable, have they failed you, if so how, didn't hold zero, didn't track etc. If you have used them how far are your average shots. Just curious as if you go to rokslide they are the worst...

    Tent/sleeping bag help?

I typically use an older msr hubba hubba tent that I love. If I were to replace it I would go with the sg 2 man. Your bag is crazy heavy, no way I would pack that. I would look at a good down bag somewhere in the 0 to 15 degrees. Lots of good brands to choose, western mountaineering, marmot...

Do you carry a pistol for bear when elk hunting???

As many others on here I see no point carrying a handgun when rifle hunting and if I'm being honest I usually chuckle when I see someone who is. Imo most people who are walking around with their rifle along with a sidearm strapped to them are usually one of two types, either they want to look...

    Go Fund Me

Gotta admit I think that would be a better go fund me than a lot that I see, in fact if I were insanely wealthy I would probably actually contribute to your cause....lol

    Good guns done dirt cheap

I love some of the older rifles, particularly old model 70's and 94's. While I do have a couple of modernish rifles there's still something about blued steel and wood that stirs my blood. As far as calibers go 99% of mine are old. 30'06, .270 , .338 win mag to name a few. Even the new rifles...

    Lost our buddy-UPDATE

First off I am so sorry to hear your loss. It's never easy to lose a great companion like that. I lost my best friend Cooper 3 years ago and will never get over it. It's a hard decision whether or not to get another dog. In our case my wife really wanted to get another dog right away and so we...

    Moose and game bags

I'm assuming shiras? If so the caribou gear moose kit will work great as mentioned above. If it's Alaskan which I'm assuming not since you mentioned out west , I would take a couple extra

    Should I buy a .338?

I'm pretty sure that when it comes to the question of whether or not to buy a gun, regardless of the caliber the answer is always YES....lol

    Moose - Lets see em!

Last year I fulfilled my lifelong dream hunt of an Alaskan Moose. I went solo, got dropped off via float plane and literally had the trip of a lifetime. Wish I could go every year. Alaska is a special place no doubt.

    Bull moose

Your 300 wm with 180 grain accubonds will be more than enough. That's a great load imo.
