Gratitude For The Deer That Are There

Great post. My kid is 26 now and every year I’m thankful for still being able to hunt with him. His fiance is supportive so that helps. We had a great year too. It’s still fun out there

NOSLER wants to see your success

I had my old worn out Savage in 7mm changed to 28 Nosler. Remachined the whole rifle. Got down to 3/8 MOA using factory 150 gr etip at 3300 fps. Love this rifle now.

    Burris Eliminator 6

You don’t need any dope at 250 yards. If I’m shooting 800 yards I have to use my rangefinder with dope for my bullet on it and then compensate with x amount of MOA on my turret. It sounds like you guys are only shooting short range so yes I agree. No need for any dope no matter what you use...

    Burris Eliminator 6

Has anyone on here used this? I like the idea of having my dope on the scope. It would save time not having to range it and adjust the turret.

    Welcome Nosler Bullets and Ammunition

I have been using factory Nosler ammo on my custom built Nosler 28. 3/8 MOA using 150 grain ETip. My rifle was msde with ridiculous tolerances to spec so half the new rounds I have bought since covid will not feed into my chamber. Head spacing is correct. The radius on the neck of the case...

Active fires and hunting, whats your thoughts?

Yes, good times. I was a little concerned about the fire too but I’m glad we didn’t cancel our hunt. The pack out was a little too much but that’s a whole nother story. Good times tho

Active fires and hunting, whats your thoughts?

We got my kid this little bull a couple years ago and notice the smoke. We were 30 miles from a huge fire. Great hunt. My lungs did hock up some interesting stuff though. Go for it!

    Weird Hunting Traditions

I did an overnight fishing trip to the Cook Islands out of New Zealand. As we were leaving the harbor they had us throw bread into the water. They did that every trip for good luck. It wasn’t optional, they fid it every trip just like their father had always done. They were giving back to the...

    Weird Hunting Traditions

I used a rock for toilet paper once. Somehow I think we’re off track! My tradition is drinking one cold beer if me or my son make a significant kill. Has to be at least a deer, or special fish like the marlin I caught 2 weeks ago. I had one beer then. I stopped drinking beer 9 years ago so...

    Kids

I had to sell my ocean boat when Justin was born because Mama’s metabolism changed and she started getting seasick plus Justin had no fear of water and on overnight trips he’d start crawling right into the water. We couldn’t relax and fish or dive. Hunting slowed down too but once he was...

    Spider ID?

I have been bitten by 2 black widows. My buddy has been bitten 4 times because he was a water meter reader and they were always in the meter boxes. They swell up a lot and hurt a little for a few days. No big deal. My wife got bit by a brown recluse and that hurt for months. She still has a...
