    Montana season structure proposal 2.0

Not a chance. I think the people of MT are already going to have a meltdown. If you cut deer season to two weeks it’ll be a riot.

    Montana season structure proposal 2.0

Our wildlife management is sustainable. You may not like it, but the deer aren’t going extinct.

    Montana season structure proposal 2.0

Finally got a chance to hop into the blog. Very well done. It’s easy to see and understand. I really like that you guys stated some goals and that you laid out the proposal as clean as you did.

Podcast on Montana Mule Deer ideas

Alright one last thing, I think this is the last one. You guys brought up that FWP’s surveys are skewed to get the answers they want. Eric mentioned that specifically, and then stated that the most recent one was the best one yet. “Not great, but the best one yet” was how he said it I believe...

Podcast on Montana Mule Deer ideas

Also, one last question. You guys stated that this only applies to general units. What about units that are LE for elk and general for deer? Are we going to be archery elk hunting while someone is running around rifle hunting deer?

Podcast on Montana Mule Deer ideas

Overall, I think you guys have done a nice job with this proposal. I still find it a little comical that there isn't really a defined goal. The state of Mule Deer in Montana is definitely struggling, but it would be a lot easier to pitch this to someone if there was a measurable goal. Whether...

Extreme hunting pressure in region 7.

No offense here, but if you can’t find an antelope on public land or on the BMA’s in that unit, the problem is you. There are antelope to hunt. Quality may not be great, and there may be some hunter pressure but there are antelope on huntable ground.

Extreme hunting pressure in region 7.

Exactly. At some point we can’t cater to every single person in the field. If they aren’t smart enough to not field dress an animal at the gate, they probably won’t read that section of the regs anyway! (If they can read at all)

Extreme hunting pressure in region 7.

Ya I agree, I just thought there was going to be more based on your first sentence. I spent 4 days out there chasing antelope this week and finally called it quits. Hunters everywhere, every buck with 8” horns getting killed. Had a hunter shoot over me at a buck that I wasn’t even sure was in...

    Ditching GoHunt

Gohunt was in its infancy then. He came from FU money…not sure why it matters what people spend their money on though.

    Ditching GoHunt

I can’t imagine being butthurt because someone has a job that and they choose to spend their money on hunting. Unreal

    Ditching GoHunt

I prefer GoHunts imagery to OnX but the rest of it is a pain in the ass. I use GoHunt for research and OnX for mapping. It’s also nice that all my friends have OnX and we can share data easily.

Your buddy couldn’t just drop you a pin? The updates are a pain in the ass with OnX though. I feel like they push one out every 3 hours.

    Montana General Season Structure Proposal

Why should we give tags to outfitters? I don’t know why people want to do this. There is no reason to give them preference over the general public. If we want to have a subset of private land only tags that fine. But an outfitter shouldn’t be required.

    Montana's Impossible Housing Situation

Everytime I'm in Glendive I'm blown away at how big of a shit hole it is. A month or so ago I was there with my wife and her response was “I think I’d rather live in Browning than this place, this is the armpit of Montana.” The town feels like the entire place needs pressure washed. The...

What The Hell is Science-Based Management?
