Mobility Impaired hunters can hunt any accessible public land within the units drawn. Private land with permission. Also, you can't move ranches the 2nd day of the hunt anymore. They did away with that rule years ago for antelope tags. It was a life saver on some bad years.
I've talked to some biologists about that possibility and they've always told me that, not only do the does carry half the genetics, but the smaller bucks should have similar genetics to the larger bucks. I never really agreed with them on it.
I think in areas with small populations that can...
Mostly, if you can avoid the major pitfalls your horns should be OK.
Do not boil your horns.
Do not microwave your horns.
Do not let them sit outside or in a garage in hot temperatures.
Do not keep the horns on the horn cores with the meat under the horns.
Do not pop the horns off the horn...
I guess it depends on your needs. I'd need to cache multiple states. 2 states will take up 17.3 GB and take 12 hours and 53 minutes to download. If I waited to cache them or kept having to delete and re-cache different areas then I'd either forget to do it or remember to do it when I didn't have...
17 inches on the long horn. Short one is a little less. Overall I think your guess was pretty good. Glad you're voting in all the polls. So far I think all of your guesses have been really good.
Your guess on this buck was actually closer than mine. I was trying to be conservative. ;)
Even we...
We just killed two giants in Arizona.
For anyone following along with the polls I was posting (mostly on Facebook) one of these bucks was posted in Poll #1 and the other in Poll #4. The crowds guess in Poll #1 was 89 1/8 and for Poll #4 was 86 2/8.
Doc's buck in Poll #1 is well over 90 and...
An 8" face is a lot more consistent on mature bucks. The face will range from 7-5/8 to about 8 2/8 on 90% of the bucks. Ears will vary a lot more.
Almost all ears in AZ and NM on 3+ Y/O bucks are 6-6/8"+. Even in Wyoming, the bucks we've killed have all had pretty big ears, usually around 6 6/8...
We usually break the length down into two measurements.
1. The distance from the base to the intersection of the prong. (we call this the "to the prong" measurement or "TP")
2. The distance from the intersection of the prong to the tip of the horn. (we call this the "past the prong" measurement...
For anyone still following along check out the results from the poll on buck #2. There are some really wild guesses, but overall I think the crowd sourced data nailed it again.
Field Judging Poll #2 Results
Here's a link to Field Judging Poll #2
Here's a preview of the buck this go around. The last time I thought was pretty cool and a lot of people submitted votes (around 100). Hopefully this time will be fun too and get a lot of votes.
Practice your field judging for the upcoming antelope...
