What makes you think this is what the military has learned??? I have not heard that in one meeting. It has more to do with this....

Show me...
The outcome is far from certain. There is far more complexity now that needs to be calculated into our strategic decision making. We have to look hard at if the technologies/capabilities that are applicable in this fight can be directly integrated into our forces, when our most likely adversary...
Sure have. They used to have the Hunter line right below the VX-I. Sold a lot of them that got mounted on a Marlin 336, Rem 7400, or Rem 7600 when I worked at Gander Mountain in college. They existed up until at least around 2000. Not sure when they phased out.
I have had good luck with the Leupolds I own. I do not use them much for longer range shooting, so I wouldn't say I have really tested their repeatability beyond doing occasional box tests.
That said, I would say that the features of their product lines are migrating away from what I value...
I didn't catch a budget you were looking at, but I would throw in a recommendation for a NEMO Sonic. One thing that is a big deal for me is the size of the foot box, and the Nemos have a nice sized one. 3lbs 2oz for their 0deg bag.
I guess you have to have been a currently serving Solider to have heard that beauty, and to know that a drill sergeant is gentle as a pussy cat compared to the real army.
So you want a poster with a guy holding a pic of his veteran grandfather and nazi soldiers patrolling in the background??? I would wait until they redo that poster, should be happening soon.
I have thought a lot about this topic in the last few years and my thesis centers around 3 dynamics that seem to have sent us on this downward spiral.
1. back in the mid-1990s the media was leaning left creating a space/[perceived need for balance, and Fox News was born. This allowed for the...
This is a really tough one, but schnitzel might the winner. I have made it with turkey and mountain lion. Both were excellent.
A couple of runners up would be wood duck poppers and I have only made it once so far, but whitetail tenderloin rouladin rubbed with blackening spice and stuffed with...
I have messed around with a lot of different combos over the last 20years and they are all good for something, but at the end of the day I swap out sights based on the desired use. I think the magnifiers are a decent compromise for making hits out to 300ish meters on a basketball sized target...
I would second this option. You can use all the different kind of hooks you want. I could see liking the swing arm setup if I was sitting in a hang-on tree stand, but I also got along fine without it. All a matter of priorities/rules I guess.
What do you use the gun for? I think the biggest draw back of them is when you flip them out of the way, they snag on everything and are kind of obnoxious. If I wanted some magnification on an AR my personal preference would be a low power variable.
All that said, if your MRO is mounted on a...
That is heartbreaking, Randy. Let Barry know how much the crew cares about him and Avary. Same to your parents. I know all of you are going to get a lot of continued joy from having Avary as part of the clan.
I ordered the bigger trees (8-16") from the Anoka County Soil and Water District. The 5-12" are from the DNR.
I planted about 50 x 8-16" white spruce last spring and only lost a handful. They all had good sun, really good roots, and decent moisture. I think a few that I lost were due to poor...
I have a feeling this will be our best bet. I had already planned to thin around the edges of the swampy areas we plan to put the cedars in, and laying down some horizontal cover will be helpful for the deer too.
