Agreed. Just takes a bit longer than I had time for. Just a quick pass-through trip this time around. Would have been much happier had I taken the time to RMDS.
Was at the Casper store last weekend. I was looking for some pheasant/chukar loads. Maybe I’m being picky but they didn’t have much in what I was looking for. Some other departments seemed well stocked but overall it was a bit disappointing.
Just got to do some shooting and reloading with my brother’s a couple weekends ago. We even tried some fire forming loads. It’s just a cool round. I bought a set of dies so I could load for his on my press and I have a feeling I’ll own one someday.
I have rebarreled with both a Criterion and an ER Shaw on a savage. Both accurate but that criterion is smooth! Pushing a correct-sized patch down the barrel requires little effort when compared to a Savage factory barrel or the ER Shaw. Cleans up really easy too!
With dogs, we’ve found them in sage flats, canyons, and near cliffs or steep draws. We normally focus on steep terrain and follow the dogs’ noses from there.
