Anyone Want to Talk About Lonesome Dove (Book)?

Been listening to the audio book at work. The narrator does an amazing job. I have a hard time shutting it off when I get home!

Raking (verb) – to really hit the ball hard, all over the park

I got lucky when GoHunt had their triple point sale last year. Started by buying a new Mystery Race Beartooth 80 (my horn hunter pack was tired to say the least). Then I used the points from the pack to take a couple hundred $$ off of The Seek Outside Cimmeron. Then I took those however many...

    Late cow in Colorado?

Ive got the same tag. Roads everywhere. They get slick when they get wet. A buddy and I got stuck out there when we were in high school. Terrible day over with over 30 miles of walking to get service to get help. A wall tent will be a fine choice.

    Over Annealed Cases?

I worked up a load for my 6.5 PRC that was amazing. Hornady cases, 57.2 Grains H1000, 147 Grain ELD-M shooting 2970 FPS with under 10 FPS E/S shooting Sub .25 MOA. The thing was an absolute tack driver. I took it out and shot cinder blocks from 850 to just over a thousand yards pretty easily...

Considering investing in a pair of gaiters, are they worth it?

Yes. I wear them every trip out wet or not. Keeps sticks and dirt out of the tops of your boots.

    Food list for backpack hunt.

Absolutely and as far as the drink mixes go, if it will make you drink more water take them and use them. Water can be hard to drink after a couple of days and Ive found if it has some flavor its easier to drink. It's the little things while you're out there. It's funny to me because the bull in...

    Food list for backpack hunt.

Don't listen to anyone telling you to trade out one item for another just because thats what they pack. The bottom line is that if you like it and you know you will eat it, take it. It doesn't do you any good to pack in food you wont eat just because someone said to. Unlike most of the rest of...

    Colorado unit 4

If you're planning on coming up this week be aware of the hippies that will be flooding into that area for their "Family Gathering" or whatever the hell they call it. Adams Park is where the gathering will take place over the next few weeks with the peak being the first week of July. Ive seen...

Another "is this bullet good enough for that?" thread.....

As a guide I fully understand where he is coming from. He is not questioning you as a hunter or shooter so dont take offense to that. He may feel that he is (possibly) saving himself the headache of tracking an elk that was poorly shot with a lighter bullet. I have killed and seen elk be killed...

    Packing Sheds Horseback?

Planning on taking horses into an area for shed hunting. Does anyone have experience stacking/packing sheds in panniers to get them out? It'll be the panniers that go over a regular saddle not the pack saddle style.
