I’ve also been doing anything I can to get this little one outside. Whether it’s fishing, prepping mineral sites, or just riding around on the four wheeler…. she is absolutely loving it!!!!
We are going to get my tents out soon and set them up for some dry runs. I need to make sure I’m all...
Let’s start off with the countdown and some bucks that are growing. I’ve been not checking cameras much, but now is the time I’m staring to get excited.
Also if you can’t tell….. those elk hunts are coming quick!!!!!
Let’s see let’s see!
It’s been very busy at work and outside of work chores, but things are still moving forward towards success.
My daughter and I spent all of yesterday fourwheeling on the farm, fishing (with success), and checking cameras.
So far we are off to a fun start.
I’ve...
In this episode Corey and Randy host Dustin Diefenderfer of MTN TOUGH. Topics covered include Dustin's hunting passions, archery elk hunting, the "packout from hell," cardio versus strength, and the obvious benefits of physical preparation for elk hunting, yet goes far deeper into the mental...
Not much to report other than we are getting a lot of good rain. It’s going to be a very good year with optimal growth. So I’m very excited to see what happens the next few months.
I ended up turning some cameras on and I’ve found a few nice turkeys still, a few pregnant does (love it), and...
My daughter and I took a spin on the farm and checked some things out.
6 turkeys, 3 deer, and the food plots are coming along!
I also found a turkey habitat and nesting workshop locally that I’m going to go to. I’m super excited so I can keep this effort going of growing the turkey...
Today was a beautiful day. I cut more trails, did some brush hogging, and got more minerals down in my year round sites.
Added some trophy rocks, some trace mineral, some salt, and a little secret ingredient I’ve found they love in the summer.
Something neat that I can get into later...
Now that Turkey season is done we started on some farm chores, worked some baby kill plots, and did some fishing.
We also need to get some trace minerals out and start putting cameras out middle of June to see what we will be chasing this year.
I’ve got tons of clean up to do out there and I...
Had a few minutes to escape to the farm tonight.
She definitely enjoyed it :)
This weekend I may get out there to put in some minerals for deer, burn off some dead fall, and clear a few areas out I want to add some kill spots in.
It’s been pretty chaotic at work, but I was out yesterday and I’m out today for the final day of turkey season.
Yesterday was full of hens, but I located a very nice bird in the evening.
So now im set up waiting on him.
4 hens in the field as we speak.
If he’s not down by 3PM I’m...
This morning was bitter sweet. I was able to arrow my first Missouri bird on the farm we’ve been trapping on!
He gobbled back in the timber. After a little call action and teasing, he came sprinting into my decoys and I killed him at 7 yards.
This is the stuff I dream of and it came true...
I got out here a little late today because of some stuff. So I’m gonna do an afternoon hunt. I had 2 gobblers and 3 jakes right in front of my blind of course…..
I took a chance and pushed them out with my truck because they know it well and usually come right back. So I pushed them, parked...
It really is so much fun and I had no idea she would take to it so fast. It was a really good introduction and transition for her into killing. She’s always scouted with me, blood trailed with me, and helped butcher. Now with the trap lines we have been able to practice shooting fundamentals...
I was also able to do a little shed hunting. We don’t typically find too many on this property, but I found a few!
We also have a few ponds out here and so far it’s been fun!
These next couple of weeks will really focus on turkey hunting, fishing, bow prep, season prep, farm prep, and...
My year really started off once Missouri deer season closed. It was time for me and my daughter to start doing our new found hobby.
In 2023 on a 280 acre farm we have access to, we started trapping. The goal was to help the turkey population in any way that we could. Well the first season...
The draw season is here and it’s looking like incredible so far.
As of right now my September will be maxed out with 2 archery elk tags and 2 archery deer tags.
On top of that there will deer hunting in Missouri, Oklahoma, Kentucky, fishing, turkey hunting, and trapping. Add in a few other...
