Colorado has rifle seasons that span across the entire fall - something will definitely suit your schedule. Study the reg booklet and draw odds. There are high country units a NR can get into pretty easy.
Idaho is a great place.. and you can avoid crowds. Enough steep stuff in some places that...
tough to build up a large sample size when you have to use a drop net or clover traps. Not like out west in more open country where you can get 20+ collars out per day using a helicopter and a net gun.
Another vote for four dog stove - outstanding piece of equipment. I have the three dog for a 12x12 spike tent. I use the buddy propane heater for the AM when I don't build a fire. Get stuck in some nasty weather and you'll be so happy you went for the wood option.. I usually pack both.
There is very little overlap in the two groups functionally, so good to join both. BHA is working at the policy level on issues that really matter to the public land hunter/angler. RMEF has a huge and broad membership (which is great for generating funds), and they tend to focus on on-the-ground...
Bearpaw wilderness out of CO makes a pretty functional rain cover. Weighs like an ounce. I always carry it... also, the DWR or equivalent finish wears off on the pack (or it seemed to on mine) after a lot of use and washing blood out. You could always re-treat it with a DWR product if you didn't...
Basically brand new Lowa Vantage GTX in mens 11.5, <25mi on them. I bought these last year for summer/elk season and since I have two other pairs of Lowa figured they'd work and tossed the factory insoles and went hiking. They are a tad narrow in the toe box for me, so I need to find something...
You can call Lowa customer service and they can give you some input on how the models you're interested in fit compared to something you've worn. For example, I have Tibets in 11.5 and Renegades in 12 - they have EXACTLY the same insole. The guy as CS told me the renegade ran a little large, and...
for late season I use the Guide but also carry a pair of insulated puffy pants for glassing or low activity stuff. Not sure the terrain you're hunting in CO, but I could never use a pant that is insulated for hiking in the mountains. I started with the same combo as you, base plus ascent and...
The 600g Thinsulate version, size 11 mens, with knobby tread (not the waffle style).
I've worn 6 times approximately, so basically brand new. No leaks or defects of any kind. I used aftermarket insoles, so the originals have never been used. They are just a bit too big for me and I need to size...
Great draw... you should have a fun hunt. That is great elk country. I drew the 3rd rifle last year, only had 3 days to hunt but had no problem finding elk. They were spread out pretty well, just moving around the country quite a bit. Bulls were bugling on opening morning too, which was fun...
At least those unlucky enough to feed on the carcasses and gut piles left behind with lead fragments. Every eagle that has gone to the rehab center in our part of the state this year has died of lead poisoning. Nearly every raptor that comes in has elevated lead levels in their blood, from mild...
We've had great luck with the TSX, TTSX, and Hornady's GMX. I'll never go back to lead bullets. These shoot great, perform excellent on elk (all have basically gone less than 50yds), and don't kill all the hawks and eagles that eat your gut piles left in the woods.
Never worn, brand new in box. I received as a gift. They are size 11.5 wide (which isn't that wide as these danners are on the narrow side and don't work for my feet).
$215 TYD
I would consider trading on a kifaru or seek outside L or XL stove, MR 6500 or marshall pack bags, or a Neoair All...

I'm not familiar with NC weather, but if you're just needing to take the edge off Mr Buddy does the job.
If you don't want a larger stove, any of the backpacking type stoves will work fine, but they aren't cheap.
Do a search on the DIY section over on rokslide. There are a bunch of ideas there...
The four dogs are super nice. My dad heated a large garage with his for a while. I have a 3 dog model for my 12x12 spike tent, and its about perfect.
Ideal car camping stove. They are good and heavy, so hold heat for a while compared the the thinner/lighter ones out there. Don does a nice job...
You should be able to easily save your shapefiles to KMZ in QGIS. My install is too old to open right now with my recently updated OS, but in QGIS 2.4 you could save any shapefile directly to KMZ. You'll have to play around with it, but its one of the choices in the dropdown menu of what type...
