    Virginia Black Bears

I live in Northern Virginia (work in DC) and the best spots for me appear to be in Shenandoah and Rockingham Counties. About an hour and a half drive and lots of public land in the National Forests. I’m going to hunt with a rifle to start off. May switch to the bow later. Should I plan on...

Anyone use semi-auto rifles other than AR style for hunting?

I had a BAR 30-06 and it was ok. Accuracy wasn’t great. I currently own an M1A and it is a pleasure to shoot. I have a nice vortex scope on it and it is very accurate. Kinda heavy but I mainly use it for whitetail in a stand or blind so the weight doesn’t matter.

    New .270 for Alaska?

Why i think the Ruger 10/22 Carbine is the best weapon for Self Defense

What a totally weird and great post. Personally, coming from a person who has shot other people in combat, I'm not really big on shooting more people, it doesn't do good things to your mind. That's why I'm a big fan of the pump shotgun, if you hear that noise and keep coming, you've really...

    Suppressor on Hunting Rifle

Few things on suppressors: First, they are fun. I have a YHM Sidewinder that I shoot on 9mm pistols and also on .22LR rifle and pistol. I squirrel hunt with it on a Ruger 10/22 and when multiple squirrels are around, the usually jump and run a few feet but they don't scurry back up the tree...
