    Dealing with a "New Guy"

The most common scam on forums is the want to buy posts. Scammers go out and find a picture of whatever it is and claim to have exactly what you are looking for at a very good price and things go from there.

    Guesses on Score?

This is a 137” 8 point whitetail. Those g2s are 12”. People tend to guess high on whitetail scores.

    Guesses on Score?

My son has a wall in his bedroom full of 120” whitetails.

    Guesses on Score?

I can’t tell enough from the pictures, is he an 8 point or 10 point? Based on what I can see he looks like an 8 point and I would guess around 120” maybe 125”.

    Life insurance question

Not all of these are created the same and $6,500 isn't life changing money by any means but without doing an actual projection on it there isn't anyway to really know what you should do. I don't recommend whole life insurance to very many people (zero that I can think of) but once you have been...

    Life insurance question

Generally on those whole life policies the fees (commission to the salesman) are front loaded so that once you have them about 15 or 20 years it just makes sense to keep them. The policy value is probably going to be growing by at least what you are putting in there so essentially by now it is...

    Timeout Time

Your username and posts don't go away if you get banned. You just end up with "banned" under your name instead of "Well-known member". The guys with "Deleted userXXXX" are people that requested to be deleted. Not people that were banned. Generally even new members get a warning or two before...

CO Mountain Lion Ballot Initiative: Continuous Updates

See, one of those is for sure over-dramatization. The other is mis-information at best, an outright lie is more accurate. Using a drone to assist in hunting is illegal in Colorado but they were saying that they are often used. Pretty much a straight up lie.

CO Mountain Lion Ballot Initiative: Continuous Updates

It's funny to hear them cry about misleading information by the opponents with the TITLE of the initiative was misleading by having ban Trophy hunting of cats when that was already not even legal and what they were really wanting to do is ban hunting of cats period. I think that actually hurt...

CO Mountain Lion Ballot Initiative: Continuous Updates

I hadn't seen the final spending numbers. Interesting to see that the proponents outspent by almost a million dollars ($2.8m spent to support it and $1.9m spent against it) but it still was voted no by what seems to be a good margin to me. Congratulations Colorado!

CO Mountain Lion Ballot Initiative: Continuous Updates

Sure seems like it is going to be a solid statement. 55% no seems pretty conclusive.

My son's 2023 Colorado OTC Public Land Bull!

What a difference a year makes. Warm this year with temps in the 70s. We didn’t see a single elk. Hoping to snag something off the reissue list but not holding my breath.

    Whitetail hunting the rain

This is true on a windy day too. Lots of movement and noise and you have a lot better chance of sneaking up on something.

    Whitetail hunting the rain

I've never seen deer stay inside because it was raining. I would have to say that I would expect movement to actually pick up during the rain. As said they might wait out a torrential downpour but they don't mind getting wet for sure.

Hunt Talk Auction! **$4,705** Raised By Hunt Talk Members For "Wildlife Deserve Better!"

Thanks to Sytes for running it and to all who donated items for the auction! Almost $5,000 raised in just a few days. Felt good to participate and maybe some day I will actually get to use the bear fence I won. Jabber was super gracious and covered shipping although I did offer to pay...

Need some HuntTalk wisdom on 5th Wheels

Just got done with our first real trip with the new trailer. Pulled it to our place in Colorado and back. Averaged 7.6 mpg for the trip, that's a little worse than I had been getting with the old trailer (I think the average on it was 8.1) but I was pulling into a slight north wind going up...
