Use of an ATV offroad in AK is illegal if it "contributes to water quality degradation, alteration of drainage systems, significant rutting, ground disturbance, or thermal erosion.” See the OP's picture if there is any ambiguity about whether what we're discussing meets this definition.

    OK so just to be clear- you'd be totally cool with it if you were hunting somewhere and then someone rolls up and destroys the experience by doing something loud and also illegal? That sounds like animals rights activists and how they feel about legal hunting...

    I was actually in the area of the OP's pics when they were taken and can personally vouch for how much of a circus the entire road hunt near Fairbanks was- guys on ATVs ripping across bare tundra, without a care in the world about its legality, discharging firearms from their running ATVs...
