Well, the new ell spot turned out to be a bust. Absolutely crazy terrain. Theres some does in the first picture. I covered around 11.5 miles round trip and never cut a single elk track. Not to mention, it was 91 out today. Going to another spot tomorrow where I haven't seen an elk yet
Opening morning- I woke up early around 4 am and headed out to a walk in area. I wanted to get back around 2 milea to see if any animals were going to be pressured back there as the morning went on. I found a nice knob to glass from and had a descent pronghorn feeding about 200 yards in front of...
All packed up with TRT flowing through the veins, and ready to head out after dinner with the family. Rifle opener for deer, pronghorn, and the rare desert elk. Ill be out until Sunday, should have some reception to update if anything cool happens.
Something else I feel would be beneficial, is allowing the range finding sights in states. Wyoming allows them, and I just put one on my bow 2 weeks ago. It takes all of the range guessing out of it, which would allow for better shot placement on animals, and less injured animals running...

That's a good question I've debated for a long time. How many people punch a tag after wounding an animal vs continue hunting? I don't want to hijack the thread, but maybe we should start one on it.
Most people I know who archery hunt have similar stories. It's actually one of the reasons I don't understand why crossbow hunters get so much hate. They are considerably more accurate and lethal.
Quartering shots are a tough one. The window is a lot smaller and risk for a poorly placed shot...
I'm sure it's happened. I carry a completely different arrow and I stick it in my side pack pouch next to the bugle tube... just to be sure I'm not one of the dumb-dumbs
