Must of made the kill that much more satisfying.
I’ve only had one ‘high pressure’ tag and I learnt about pressure, shot a bull first hour of the season and that was long enough lol
Hoping my son draws a youth elk tag this year in NM, fortunately he’s a very relaxed kid so we will probably...
Sounds like you had a great trip and made the most of your time. Good for you! Your plans for tahr, and the northern part of the South Island, is perfect.
Could someone please do me a favour and PM me the 2024 Utah Big Game Regulations?
I can’t access the Utah Devision of Wildlife website as I’m in New Zealand.
Thanks!
Spent a week hunting stags in the rut. Hard hunting this year and no big stags seen. Ended up taking an even 10 pointer. As a bonus the meat was fantastic eating and provided many meals for the six of us back at camp. Here are a few photos:
If you do make it back there is plenty of free range options. Happy to help if you have questions.
Tonight I’m off to hunt back country stags in the South Island for a week.
Glad to hear you had a great trip and had the chance to have a look around as well as hunt.
That stag is crazy! And the buck is massive. Definitely nothing like those on public land.
The map of New Zealand is just dots! Per capita I’d say we have a high number of emergency devices.
Also in New Zealand you’ll get a free (to you) chopper ride if you call SOS, no questions asked. In fact anyone, including visitors, who has an accident here gets medial help without charge.
Those Monday - Friday hunts will add up very qucikly. Great exercise.
Yesterday I signed up to the Coast to Coast race in Feb 2025, that really is a major training commitment.
