When I was in college, mid 70s, my roommate and I made a $100.00 a day taking debrie out of the streams. Now they are paying you to put it back in. Gotta love capitalism. Are your trucks running North cascades or going over I 90?
Before you go slapping JB weld around and gouging wood try a very slow fire test; take a 10 minute break between shots. When I did it I simply set a timer, cleaned the rifle squeaky clean and waited. Even under warm conditions that was enough time to allow me to closely mimic a cold bore shot...
Very common issue with #1s. Dealt with it with my 257 Roberts, 275 Rigby and the 300 H&h. Free floating the barrel, bedding the spring hanger as well as bedding the interface between the fore end and the receiver helped significantly I thought I had done a pretty good of that. P ham did it...
I really like the 1.5x5 on a #1 just looks and feels so much more balanced. I’ve got one on my 375, seems perfect. I might try to convince Santa to bring me a couple of those.

Lining things up the front slot on Pham rail aligns with the traditional location of Rugers...
The Ruger offset Ring will give you an inch, I’ll be sending Pham my 275 Rigby and my 257roberts for his mount. I have vx 3s on both of those with the rear ring right up against the tower. I’ll get some pics in just a bit.
Hiking the Minam, from its confluence with the Wallowa to Reds Horse Ranch, to Moss Springs. Happy #66. 32 miles; nearly 4000 foot of elevation gain, lots of bear sign, little elk sign.
My Benelli M2 is a south paw gun. I shot right handed guns for about 40 years before I bought this LH Benelli. Right side ejection never bothered me but the awkward working the safety did. I’ve been told the safety can be switched for a left handed on the M2. I never figured that out.
