What to do with carcasses and bones?

I bury them or toss them in the woods where I have permission. Something about tossing them in the trash to get landfilled and turned into toxic waste for a thousand years doesn’t sit well with me.

Family Trip to Alaska - Let’s Talk

Well, we’re here - but the place is on fire. This is as close as we’ll get to the Park unless the weather turns for the better. We’re booked with TAT for flight seeing Saturday afternoon.

    S’mores

Now you can start whittling a little barb on the end of your branch to help keep the marshmallow from going in the fire and further up your s’mores game.

    Whitetail shanks

With CWD, I’m not brave enough to shank a whitetail. But with three antelope tags this year I’m hopeful some antelope shanks braised with mirepoix are in my future.

My son, my dad, and I each spent $45 on that lotto ticket - we all lost. No info, but good luck!

Wow - still a lot of applicants for the $1,200 tag . . . not surprising. I would have thought demand might have dipped a bit more though. Made a last minute unit switch on 5/31. Granted, the unit isn’t as good, but our odds went from 3% to 35%. Hunting is better than not hunting.

    Satelite cell phones?

Maybe - depends on how you use it. Those portable chargers are getting pretty light and holding more charge.

2024 WY pronghorn, deer, and R elk draw

In on the special for deer and antelope. Don’t have a prayer for deer. I switched our antelope unit at the last minute hoping for better draw odds. Not an ideal unit, but with this likely being my only shot at a three generation hunt, I just sent it. $1,200 each will be a lot for a lower...

    Disabled hunting equipment market

In my family’s experience, the disability itself can be very costly in many ways. Just the cost of various treatments and the expenses of every day life can be a lot. And as some of the other folks have suggested, the adaptive stuff usually isn’t cheap. It’s hard to find the money sometimes.

    2024 Turkey Season!

Can’t kill what isn’t there. I’d spend alot of time running and cutting during that forty-five minute window between when they wake up and shortly after they hit the ground. This is probably one of the more effective methods for locating birds. Not sure about the mountains, but this is my...

    WI Hunts

Thanks. It was a good way to end the season. Makes me think I’m getting old to have passed. If there was such a thing as catch and release hunting, this was it.

    WI Hunts

As you know from this thread we already have two birds in the freezer. I had given a lot of thought as to whether or not I’d pull the trigger if I got a chance. I decided I was going to be selective and unless I figured I was looking at spurs that were solidly over 1.5 inches, he was getting a...
