Red dots on riflescopes
I have scopes with illuminated red dot in them. Never used the illumination though. And a Henry Single Shot that because I have a hard time seeing the open sights, I put a green dot on. But a separate red dot and a scope, both mounted on the rifle? Can we say "Tacticool Mall Ninja"? -

Upgraded to a McMillan… again
Nice! I've always wanted to try a McMillan stock. But they are priced out of my range. Right now I'm looking for a long action donor to build a 280AI. And frugality ( spelled cheap a$$), has me looking at Savage Axis II actions, with either a Douglas or E.R. Shaw barrel and Boyd's stock. -

7mm-08 140 TGK COAL?
They said "2.800" because that is the SAAMI measurement. It will fit in every rifle chambered in 7mm-08. They will have no clue what the distance to the lands is in YOUR rifle. Colorado relocating wolves.
Well, like no one saw this coming. Colorado is relocating wolves due to "wildlife" attacks. Apparently their definition of wildlife means cattle. Glad I'm not a cattle rancher in Colorado! Game commission would arrest me. Dark haired lady is a freaking idiot!!- std7mag

New Old Gun
Talked to my friend last night. He said that it was a 1861 Tower Enfield. Had the Tower emblem and wording, along with proof stamping on it. I thought it was a Lee, but I was mistaken. -

Question for those who have rebarreled a rifle...
I do my own rebarreling, so I always get my old one back. Give the smith a call and ask if you can have the old one back. To my thinking they should have sent it back with the rifle to begin with. Especially if it was a new take off. -

Drop away rests
Someone cut off the "offending pieces" off of the Ripcord rest on the used bow I recently bought. Left it totally useless to me. It's called a drop away for a reason. They get out of the way. -

Looking for suggestions on a new caliber
Since @AFBeyers is new and may not know, I'll expand on this a little for them. Reloading will save you money if you look at it as cost per cartridge or shot if you will. But you'll end up shooting 2-10 times more than with factory ammo. Maybe even more than that. In 1 year I put 900 rounds...- std7mag

Dammit Trigger
I'm in Pennsylvania, so not that different. I wear those gloves that have a pocket sewn onto the back, turning them into mittens when you don't need the finger dexterity. I have all my triggers set to 2-1/2lbs. I've been out west in the winter. I'll take it over a north eastern winter any... -

I shoot the 125gr Black Hornet Ser-razors with bleeders on 250 spline Carbon Express Blue MZ. Total pass through. Good blood trails. But in all honesty, furthest track was 40 yards. -

Yeah... With my luck, if I had a rifle like that and zeroed at 300 yards, game would come in and be standing 40' from me. And I'd be wishing I had my pointy stick traveling at 236fps. Especially after all I would see in the scope is fur. Been there, done that with my 7mm Rem Mag and a 6-24... -

Welcome to the forum. Around here in PA, if you say 25-06 for deer, you'll get a lot of people agreeing with that choice. The 338 Win Mag is really overkill.
