Over the course of this thread and in several other instances, I have heard folks referring to the Madison mule deer herd having the highest spring count in 20 years as a counterpoint to observations that mule deer in MT are on an overall downward trajectory. Most times I have heard it has been...
Do you have a better plan other than just expressing opposition to anything that requires sacrifice from all users groups that will affect positive change biologically, be acceptable socially, and not negatively impact Montana FWP’s budget?
Please share.
If only there was a proposal that addresses pretty much all those issues. Some folks would even describe it as reasonable and moderate rather than extreme.
A priest, a rabbi and a Baptist preacher met once a month for morning coffee. During the course of conversation they began to discuss who was the most effective at spreading their faith and proselytizing folks to join their congregations. As the discussion grew heated someone came up with the...
I found that bears cook best low and slow with a lot of moisture in a crockpot or an oven. It always took 8-12 hours in water or broth to break the collagen between the muscles down and get it tender.
I bet if you put that ham into a crockpot with liquid of your choice for several hours it...
Thank-you for your support? 😏. Although this proposal is not partisan in origin, content or group members, we have heard a lot of folks, lot of folks saying some very, very nice things about this proposal. It will do some very, very good things for wildlife and hunter distribution in MT and...

You’re forgetting this is a bathroom remodel. That 8-10k in the rifle budget will be eaten up by cost overruns. You’ll be lucky to score a brick of shotgun ammo with a bathroom remodel.

The survey referenced was a FWP commissioned survey that was sent to 5000 hunters and the results were publicized by FWP and interpreted by FWP.
You weren’t one of the chosen ones...
Speaking personally, I would like to see a week longer archery season and a three week October rifle season instead of the four weeks we are proposing. If there was enough public buy in of the idea that it wouldn’t torpedo the entire proposal I would be in favor of it.
On the social side of...
(Sorry. I screwed up the formatting when I tried to quote @Shed God. My previous reply is easier to read below)
Our proposal does not affect the season dates of any units designated LE that requires a permit to hunt for that specie that requires a permit.
Let’s pick hypothetical unit 123 for...
