Congrats to your Dad.
It's been 34 years since I drew a moose tag for Sage creek area, Gallatin Canyon.
Sure would be nice to hunt them one more time.
The pic of the Montana Iron Works with date is pretty darn cool.
I generally like to cut the leg below the knee. Carry the quarter out with bone in and tendon intact so I can hang it in my cooler. Shank meat gets stripped.
The side of my saw with the finer teeth I use for splitting the pelvis, but also cutting the ribs on one side of the breast bone to open...
It's a bomber saw, certainly done it's share. Could be a little sharper as a result.
I probably will continue to use it, ...my status symbol instead of buying an expensive collector gun every few months.😁
Every day reminders.
Now I see my trusty bone saw is considered to be vintage.🙄
Yep, archives indicate previous threads.
Anybody out there recommend a " m odern" version that is as sturdy as the Pac-Saw, but also has fine/ coarse cutting teeth. Flimsy plastic crap won't cut it.
Tuna Creations with Ramen were a staple on my sheep hunt.
GREAT mountain weather for sure.
Good hunting.
Ps....the hippy chicks will be at Froze To Death, probably along with a cranker billy.
