    Old Iron

I've got a soft spot for older rifle designs. I like the new stuff too, but it can be pretty "cookie cutter" today. One of the actions pretty high up on my "intrigued by" list is the Krag-Jorgensen. A wonderfully odd design that's just about as smooth as you can get. It's far from perfect but...

Spartan Fail. Now Which Bipod and How to Mount It?

The gunsmith socket is the way to go. A lot of guys install it close to the balance point of the rifle but you lose a lot of stability doing that. If you can, halfway down the forend or near the sling stud work well.

    Cool single shot

Thank you. I have to put that on all my posts or IG and FB flag them. Most get overturned but it's a huge inconvenience. This was for a client, they supplied the donor for the work. It's not cheap to do but the end product is neat. CVA and Henry both make single shots that would be great...

    Cool single shot

This was a fun build. It started out as a H&R Handi Rifle in .444 Marlin. It had headspacing issues so it made a good candidate for a redux. I started out by cutting the barrel tenon, then I cut the factory barrel in front of the locking block, bored and threaded the barrel stub for its new...

    Ultrasonic cleaner solvent?

4:1 water and Simple Green for everything but aluminum. I use Simple Green Extreme for AL.

    Tikka Roughtech

1/2-28 will handle a lot more than a lot of people think. I wouldn't put them on anything over 30 cal for a high pressure rifle round. That's more for more bore swelling than anything though. Another option, you can do 5/8-24 with a permanent collar. It requires a barrel diameter of at least...

    Howa super lite stock

In case anybody is wondering, Stocky's makes these stocks for Howa. It's worth the asking price.

    Wolves in Nevada???

This was just as easy to find as the nonsense you posted. https://www.kolotv.com/content/news/Wolf-sighting-confirmed-in-northwestern-Nevada-417054733.html

    Wolves in Nevada???

There have been confirmed sightings in the state since 2016, and unconfirmed sightings earlier than that. Mostly Washoe and Elko counties. I'm sure there have been a few that followed the 3S rule, and nobody ever heard about it.

    30-30 powder suggestions

Unless you want a different bullet, I'd say just buy a bunch of that factory stuff. Doing that stuff I mentioned earlier could help it "like" a wider range of loadings still.

    30-30 powder suggestions

Honestly, I wouldn't expect better than 1.25-1.5 MOA out of that rifle. It looks like your numbers are settling down with the LVR, I think you're on the right track bumping up the charge weight a little if you have room. Some things you can do to help out your accuracy and consistency on lever...

    Rebarrel Opinions

It'll work fine. You can add a block to the rear of the magazine if your loaded rounds are too short and try to nosedive. The 6.5 PRC does benefit from a bit of extra length.

    Model 70 .223 build

Fought one hell of a mirage this morning. Warm sand with a cold breeze over the top. These are the 1st and 2nd groups with cheap Ultramax reman ammo. Don't know what happened with that dropped shot on the 1st group. Must've been gremlins.

    Model 70 .223 build

Yes, but I only cleaned up the factory checkering.

    Model 70 .223 build

A chemical stripper and plastic scraper is the safest way. You run the risk of taking off too much if you sand it. I've switched almost exclusively over to sandblasting at low pressure.

    Model 70 .223 build

A well lit shop is nice to work in, not great for photos. I have to get the positioning just right to show off any figure in the stock, and boy, does this stock have character!

    Off-season project - 7mm Rem Mag

Dull red. Low light conditions are best to gauge temp. Your heat zone should go just below the shoulder.

    Converting 22-250 brass

Redding makes a form & trim die that works well. You just run your donor brass into it, trim it up, then full length size. You'll have to pay attention to your neck thickness and possible donut from sizing down that far.
