Don't think I ever got around to sharing my ewe hunt video on here. The hunt was two years ago, and now my wait period to apply again is over! Super fun one day hunt, and awesome meat. My favorite so far.
Checking traps at night can be tough. I saw eyes while hiking to some traps but then they were gone. I thought maybe something was working my set, but saw me and left. When I got to the trap I saw it was messed up and while looking for the cable that was anchoring the trap I realized the cat...
And whats crazy is grey fox love this set as well. They don't mind the exposed pan. I even get a coyote or two in them as well. Normally big males in january right after I freshen up the set with some cat urine. The seem to think with the wrong head in January.
I've had a lot of request on social media on how I set for bobcats. Below is a video on how most Nevada bobcat trappers set up. I am far from being an expert on bobcats trapping, but still thought I would share how we do it.
So I have t updated this journal much since I’ve also been posting the videos of my trap checks so I thought I would update it. We’ve been lucky and still haven’t been skunked this season. The fox have been saving us. After 5 trap checks with no bobcats, we decided to start moving the line to...

That was my worry. Figured I would give it a shot. I only have out 6 on a snare pen like set up and 2 on trails. If anything bad happens like a chew out or choke out, then I’ll pull them all. There is a lot of vegetation where they are set. Someone mentioned on Trapperman that if there is...
Had a pretty good first trap check. I was hoping for more, but the first check you always expect something in every trap haha. Caught a grey fox in the set in my last post. Ended the day with 4 grey fox!
Checking took a lot less time than I thought so decided to make the most of my day off...
11/14/2020 Opening day for bobcats and fox:
Today was opening day for bobcats and fox. Since Nevada doesn’t have a tag or quota system for bobcats, they lengthen or shorten our season based on population trends from data collected from trappers. They then set the season for 2 years and...
