    Any birders in the forum?

This sounds like it may work. I found some of the other sights mentioned but couldn't narrow it down close enough and don't have the time to listen to every bird that I am not familiar with. I'm sure that I can eliminate all game birds and raptors, but that still leaves a lot of birds.

    Any birders in the forum?

No recordings. It usually sounds like its at least 100 yards away at night and on property that I can't trespass upon so getting a recording is tough.

    Any birders in the forum?

I am in Anaheim CA. My home is adjacent to a relatively large area of chaparral hills. I agree there are likely a lot of birds that make a two-note call, but perhaps narrowing it down to this area and the fact that it calls almost exclusively after dark helps narrow it down a bit. Thanks

    Any birders in the forum?

I need help identifying a bird that I have only heard but never seen. It makes a two note call, after dark in my local area. I'm interested in finding a resource that might help me narrow this down and I don't want to join another forum to discuss titmouses and warblers etc.

    Archery Antelope Advice.

Something to consider if you want to do spot and stock is when your hunt occurs relative to the rut. If your hunt is pre-rut, like mine will be, the antelope will be more solitary and settled, making it a little easier to bed a buck and do a pure spot & stalk with fewer eyes watching. If you...

    Archery Antelope Advice.

I imagine water hole is best odds, but your wife will have serious bragging rites if she pulls if off by spot and stalk. Good Luck.

Utah fish lake early rifle elk!

I have hunted that unit for late season cow and the neighboring unit, Monroe, for cow elk archery. You'll have a ton of fun in beautiful country. But I would recommend that you go from decent shape to good shape if you want to maximize the opportunity. And bring your fishing gear.

    Cost of maintaining a horse.

Thanks for all the feed back. My interest in the horses isn't so much packing for a hunt as it is just to see country. I recently viewed the thread "wilderness-area-montage" https://www.hunttalk.com/threads/wilderness-area-montage.288591/page-4#post-2809055 and realized I'm missing so much...

    Cost of maintaining a horse.

Ok. Well this thread has served my purposes. I am not particularly fond of horses though I respect them and all animals. And even though I might grow to love them, I got my hands full enough to where I don't need a horse lifestyle. I'll put somebody else's horses to good work for a fee...

    Cost of maintaining a horse.

Sorry you lost him. I'm sure they can be as close as dogs to a man. Do you have an estimate of the costs of medical care? I'm sure that could swing wildly, but I'm just trying to get an idea of how bad an idea this is for me to consider.

    Cost of maintaining a horse.

I would prefer doing all the care myself, but my wife gets emotionally attached to critters and then the costs go through the roof. Best to keep it out of sight and out of mind.

    Cost of maintaining a horse.

I'm interested to know what it might cost annually to keep and maintain a single horse that can be used for back country travel. Preferably the full cost including having somebody else see after the animal on a daily basis. Also, are there significant restrictions costs or barriers to riding...

Methods to keep quality of frozen fish longer?

I fish/spear mostly saltwater fish. I and many others don't let any tap water touch the meat before packaging or after. Too many additives in our water system and why wash away all that good flavor.

Experiences with elk being where they were last time....?

Last year I took my first archery elk (cow). It required many hours of research. Luckily I filled my tag on the first day of the hunt and we saw plenty of other elk that day. In the remaining days following we pre-scouted for the fall deer season and found many more elk. When we returned to...

That's the point isn't it. Your not supposed to get stuff from your government. You're supposed to earn it.

Any have to turn a tag back in?

Totally depends on the state. AZ has point guard for a few extra bucks that at least keeps you from losing your points.

    MeatEater new owners.....

I listened to it. That message was extremely well composed in my opinion, much like his shows. For those who still think his business relationship is suspect you better check your retirement portfolios and sell off most of your best performing stocks 'cause they are run by people with different...

Good film. Despite knowing the outcome, I had to take a break halfway through the film just so my sphincter could relax.

    Camofire - Buyer Beware

Sorry to hear about the OP's original situation. It does sound like poor customer service to me, despite the root issue likely being the result of the delivery system or a thief. However, Camofire has gone above and beyond for me in a situation where they didn't have a duty to do so. So there...
