Might want to look into tempilaq. I've been toying with the idea my self but I only anneal by candle.

Yep overbore as nhenry says and from what I've what I've gathered, slower powders seem to come into play with a longer barrel/heavy bullet combo.
If I find some V170 I may give that a try, it's between H4831 and H1000.
I think it's great the older manuals are getting some play.
(25-06 load question)
Please, if anyone has a Speer manual that lists a 120 grain Grand Slam and willing to share I'd greatly appreciate it.
I'm looking for their published COAL.
Website and manual #15 does not have that bullet listed.
Thank you
For fun I put together 3 rounds with 117 Sierra Game Kings and 56 grains of H1000 which gave ~3000 fps. Too bad #3 was a little high
Will look more into this combo too.
Ladder test results. This 26" barrel produces about 200 FPS faster than the Hornady book numbers near max load. No pressure signs however I'm curious if this is getting too hot?
I'm planning on poking around between 53.6 and 55.1 to get some group info.
I picked up some 110 gr Hornady ELD-X bullets and curious if anyone has suggestions on powders for load development. 26" barrel 10 twist. None of the manuals I have list that bullet.
I'm thinking to try H1000, H4831SC and IMR 4350 because of the long barrel. W760, IMR 4895 and IMR 4064 are...
I like the Lee factory crimp die and a light crimp. Another handloader I spoke with recently commented that he feels the factory crimp die helps reduce runout.
Sounds plausible and I'd like to measure this however I don't have a runout gauge.
Hard to tell where the bottom is. Jeremy Grantham thinks we're in for an annual return of -6% through 2028. His justification is everything regresses towards the mean and we've enjoyed tremendous growth over the past few years.
I remember the dot com crash and how things went sideways for...
Reminds me of Nortel back around the turn of the century...except I bought at the top and it went belly up. Best thing of all is it was in Roth so I can't deduct any of it :)
Live and learn.
Just dropped a small hammer on AMZN, MSFT and the QQQs. Whether I agree or not with Bozos or Uncle Bill, this is about making money for me (and my family).
Who's invested in Vista Outdoor? That ship may have already sailed for me at this point in the cycle.
I have a set of Burris branded covers that appear to made by Butler Creek. Thickness of the cover for a 44mm objective is 0.067".
They are not the quality of Leupolds but I am glad I spent the few dollars I did for them.
BTW - After learning the proper way to install the Leupolds per...
I'm OK with things being on sale b/c I can buy some great companies at 30 and 50% off for the long haul. Dumping money in at the highs would hit me worse. Been sitting on the sidelines for a while and ready to drop more in but not quite yet.
Now if we could get components for reloading...
Remington 7600 carbine in 30-06 with 85 rounds down the tube.
Top are foulers, bottom are 150 grain Hot Cors on top of 48.3 grains of IMR 4064 = ~2475 FPS. Scope was adjusted after fouling shots. 100 yards to target.
Takes a few shots to settle down but this will sit as is until rifle season...
Ruger American 270 Win break-in. Shoot one, clean through first ten shots. Finally got scope figured out beginning with shot 5.
5 and 6 are 52 gr IMR 4350 and Speer Hot Cor 130's. 7-10 are 53 gr of same.
