I think the "fear of man" theory is pretty difficult to articulate in a way that holds much water. It's not like mountain lions or grizzly bears are sitting around the water cooler "hey did you hear ol Tom got shot last week, I guess I need to start staying clear of that area now, those 2...
I think you have to have 10 posts to send or receive private messages.
I have accounts at rokslide and monstermuleys if you are registered at either of those.
They wouldn't allow me to apply unless I bought a $100 point that already at the time I knew I would never be able to use.
A lot different from your original quote of "I’d say no because people go looking for points. No one made them spend that money."
I sure didn't go looking to buy a point...
Actually until just a couple years ago Wyoming forced you to buy sheep and moose points to apply. You weren’t allowed to enter the random draw without buying a point.
Our minimum to touch a 1040 without some other type of business return or relationship is $500. That is low compared to many firms. Some are $1,000 minimum and I actually know of one that has a $5,000 minimum.
Good CPA firms aren't making their money on compliance type tax returns but being...
It was approved to be sold to the Feds for $100m. It will become part of GTNP.
Not sure exactly how they are going to work out allowing hunting and grazing on it, but it sounded like that was part of the deal the legislature put on the sale.
Well darn....
Just got off the phone with our 401k provider.

Sounds like the mega back door is mostly hype and that's why you don't hear of people doing it very much.
Our plan is a safe harbor plan but that...
Just wanted to circle back and thank @SAJ-99 for starting this thread.
Meeting with our 401k Plan provider today to sign an amendment to our 401k plan to allow In-Plan Roth Conversions that will allow us to do the mega backdoor Roth 401k that I mentioned earlier in this thread -...
Yep. It is the greater of your state income tax or state sales tax. In a state like Texas with no state income tax we get to do a calculation based on our income of the estimated state sales tax we paid, we don't have to keep the receipts or anything for the deduction. If you buy a large item...
I don't worry about it. Short term there will always be swings, long term they have always moved up. I just keep dollar cost averaging in. For 33 years I've been invested in 100% equity in my 401k and don't worry about trying to time the market either way.
Still avoiding doing the work I need to get done today and am way down this rabbit hole of looking into the possibility of starting to run cattle on my place with the virtual fencing.
Here's a couple links that say that when done correctly cattle grazing actually can improve the habitat for...
