Corn is like candy to deer. They are just going to burn it off. You would have to feed a LOT of corn to make a difference nutritionally. Feedlots do use a lot of corn to finish steers but plenty of other stuff as well.
If you want to actually help the deer nutritionally some type of protein...
Crap. I really felt like he would draw the private land only bear tag. It was like a 60% draw in the main draw and there were 3 tags left.
Complete bummer...
Everything said that the secondary draw results were going to be posted today. I thought they usually posted at 8:00 am MST.
Hoping for a bear tag for my son.
Anyone know then the secondary draw results usually post?
Thanks, Nathan
I find it interesting as we go down some of these side roads. What’s the difference between a pig and a gopher? Very few people worry about people going and shooting gophers and not eating them. To me they are both vermin, one just tastes better.
Same with trapping. Perfectly fine to trap...
A couple recent pics. The cactus buck hasn’t shed his antlers in at least 2 years that I know of. The elk are small but I thought it was a neat picture.
Man, my apple stock has gone nuts the last 2 days. Seems like all you have to do is mention AI in a press release and you get a 10% pop on your stock price.
I do the lowest safety plan. I use the preset messages that don't count against your message count 90% of the time. I generally only have it turned on for one or two months a year.
Another special pronghorn applicant here. For me and my son. I applied in a unit that took 6 points to draw last year and I have 3 points and he has 4 points.
I’m hoping that at least we end up with a chance in the random side of it. Based on the special elk draw it seemed that for the...
Don’t be afraid to ask. Some outfits like the tip to go through the head person and others like it to go directly to each person involved. I’ve only done one guided hunt and that was Africa and the giving out of the tip at the end was a big deal. They called all the service folks in one at a...
Might try it a year and see how it goes. You’ll need a different stove probably. The only negative is the $$ but if you decide it doesn’t work for you then you can resell the tipi for not too bad of a loss.
I’ve stayed in a wall tent one time that was hauled in with horses and it did take a...
We are still eating on my son's elk.
The stuff that was the most iffy got a "XXX" added to the label on the freezer bag. Probably about 45 or 50 pounds worth. We did have a roast that somehow must have been extra tainted because when we cooked it in the sous vide the bag inflated and...
Yes. The author stating that wolves commonly chew their legs off in a trap lost me.
There is a fishy smell with the call it in then try to push it off and have your buddy want to claim it instead but seems more smoke than fire to me.
The author obviously has no idea on life in Montana...
Since Colorado is a 100% preference point state it would be easy to make sure you didn't draw your first choice so I guess they do allow the first choice to be a point. Most states don't. Congrats on drawing 2nd choice. Evidently dmac2444's cow tag wasn't a sure thing this year as a 2nd...
Not 100% positive in Colorado, but in most states if you put PP as your 1st choice then that's what you get and it doesn't go to your second choice. You would need to apply for a tag that you know that you don't have the points to draw as your first choice then the cow tag as your second...
