I guess I should have read everything... This might actually save me some money. Sometimes I don't have any hunts in areas without cellular service by myself for a year and still have to pay the $35 annual amount. This way I could skip a year and not have to pay the annual fee. I guess that's true, the $40 activation fee is about the same as the $35 annual fee on the freedom plan. I think you would just have to set everything back up each time with a new account, contacts, etc. Kind of a pain. Of course I just renewed the annual fee this month so that kind of sucks...- npaden

A Proper Sheep Rifle
I was going to say that you don't need a rifle for sheep, just go with Bambistew and borrow his. I seem to remember several of his posts in the past where they have killed two sheep with the same rifle on the same trip. He must not be hunting far enough up north to need a big gun. -

Somewhere I read that Apple is using the GlobalStar network for this. Same as the SPOT devices. When I was buying my InReach almost 10 years ago the Irridium network that InReach uses was considerably better than the GlobalStar network that SPOT was using and that's the main reason I bought an...- npaden

Meat slicer recommendations
My slicer is probably the least used of any of the processing equipment I have ever bought. It's not a way top of the line one so maybe if I had one of those I would use it more, but then I would need space to put it because those are heavy and huge. Mine is a $150ish one that specs out okay...- npaden

You can download a VPN app for free and use it to tell Hunttalk you are from somewhere else. That’s what I did when I was in South Africa and was blocked. On a bull that size you might be able to get 30 pounds of neck roasts and another 5 or 10 pounds of rib and brisket meat. I kind of think the rules should say that you have to take the neck meat. That's quite a bit of meat and generally really good for roasts or at least burger. Probably not...- npaden

Colorado gun case rules for ATV/UTV

I got hung up on that too. I wasn't sure if this was just one person or two? My cousin who is also my girlfriend who is going to be hanging out with me and the wife.
