Got the jawbone back from the taxidermist today. The lower incisors are more worn than any deer I’ve ever shot. The wear on the molars confirms my guess of 7.5+. I’m thinking he might be older. -

Yes, my reaction to finding my son's elk was take a few quick pictures and then getting the knife out and starting to cut. And that was in below freezing temperatures. Is .5 HP Grinder enough?
I had a 1/2 HP and it did fine. It wasn't perfect but did the job it was intended for. I used different tricks like semi-freezing the meat and things like that but overall felt good about it. Then it broke and I had to get a new grinder right away and Cabelas had the Carnivore ones on sale...- npaden
