Wow! ^^^^^^ This is exactly what I was thinking while looking at those groups. Thanks for putting the dime in for perspective. I have always liked the lines of the 700 and have passed up some good buys on newer product because of the poor reviews. -

NE part; spent the 70's in S Fl, the rest has been here. Get out west every year to stretch my eyes and legs. As the grey hair increases and the stamina decreases, my time line is getting shorter to were I will be in a position to spend more time out west.- Slam

Wolves kill cow near Fishtail
The wolves have been in the drainage for ~2 yrs. They are following the Butcher Creek elk herd that spends most of its time between the Lazy EL and Switchbacks holdings on both sides of 78. There was a large male and female trapped just outside Roscoe in late December.- Slam

Ohio giant, possible new record
That 2nd deer being held by Spook looks like the genetics and pictures that were coming out of Ohio Whitetails - a high fence operation sw of Canton. That operation got liquidated this year (state found evidence of Chronic Wasting and shut him down as well as put all the deer down). -

Wyoming Bound
Spent 4 days in the TBGL outside Wright, got back yesterday. Feel bad for those goat hunting 24, looked a little crowded. We were pursuing mulies, saw plenty of does and small bucks, (3 point minimum for shooters), we took 2 decent bucks. That area looks to be on track for some decent deer... -

.223 rifle advice
Both of my children started with rimfres; and the summer before their first hunting season each probably shot a brick using open sites and a scope. Inexpensive, great way to learn site picture, proper hold, and most importantly proper trigger press. 223 is adequate for deer, but the 243, 250's...
