Below are my daughters big game she's been extremely blessed to put in the freezer.
But before that I thought I'd share this. After talking to someone about her elk hunt I was questioned, by a non hunter, on my abilities of judging the maturity our 12 yr old girl and if she is really ready for...
Nicely done on her first deer and I'm guessing it will not be her last. Coues deer get under the skin pretty fast and I fully admit holding out on coues deer is the hardest thing I do in the hunting arena. I love those little buggers on the grill waaaayyyy to much.
Again congrats to your wife...
Congrats on what looks to be a beast of a deer. I think I've shot elk smaller than that!
To the young lady - thanks for doing your part in wildlife conservation and we look forward to seeing more of these photos in the future.
Awesome job!
As others have pointed it out.... the smile on his face is priceless!!!
Congrats young man on putting some meat in the freezer and doing your part in wildlife conservation!
Awesome... simply awesome.
I wrote this a while back after taking my daughter out and hope it helps others that are embarking on that adventure. Just keep it fun no matter what it is. And her view of fun is much different than yours, and that's ok...
So here's a group that is purposefully using Facebook to target sportsmen and women.

Would that not be in violation of FB terms of use?
I've suffered from swamp foot for years and I've been trying a plethora of merino socks over the years with mixed results. I recently invested in some Darn Tough merino socks and found them to work well for my needs. I like to have a liner so I bought a lightweight and heavier weight using the...
I'm selling my Mystery Ranch Metcalf Gen1 (bag only) along with the Lid and I'm tossing in a free DIY meat shelf (I used to pack my wife's elk out with last year using my long bow bag).
Note: Mystery Ranch is no longer selling the individual bags and you now have to buy the entire pack w/frame...
Here are a few resources I've used on cooking with the oven.

I got my Camp Chef 12" deep dutch oven a few months ago and thus far all I've made is apple pie deserts, well several of them using the same recipe as it's been a hunting camp favorite. I use BBQ briquets simply to make things easy and that I haven't had a camp fire on my trips, yet.
It's...
I kind of figured I wouldn't be able to find a single powder that would work with both after reading the reloading books for all the bullets I am pondering on testing.
I shoot .40 cal and .45 cal pistols and got luck that Clays worked great in reloading for both. Granted accuracy wasn't a much...
Let me preface this in that I've reloaded 10's of thousands of pistol rounds but never got into reloading rifle cartridges. Time to change that.
So I'm looking to start collecting components and need to find out if there is a powder that would work with both a 7mm mag and a .308, or do I need...
I just got back from Florida taking my wife on her osceola hunt. We had a blast and she tagged out on the second day of the hunt. Was a bit tough going as the birds were pretty quiet but we stuck to the program and were very patient and called in a hen in which the gobbler followed suit with his...
