Yep , they’re gone to hell in a hand basket, droughts, population growth, inept F&G management / elk over mulie preferred
here in Texas it’s compition with aoudad west of the pecoes river
In 2011 drought, we where working on the ranch in 110* heat and even with frequent water and rest breaks, all three of us got heat exhaustion bordering heat stroke , once you get it , it will probably effect you for ever , I know I am still effected by heat
water intoxication is a problem to ...
I get asked the same thing, what kinda pistol you packing Out here?
” none “
none but there’s bears around!!!
“ I got this “ holding my 300wm “ should be bettEr then a pistol “
you should still have a pistol just in case
Nice bear !

“ hey you what are you doing here ?”

them “ oh , our phones are dead , and we don’t know where we are at “
me “ well you’re up shit creek “
“ where is shit creek On the map?”
me “ on private land “
Can I borrow some bullets , I left mine @ home in Texas?
” sure but how will your 7mm handle these .300 WM ?”
oh I didn’t think about that! You should shoot a 7mm :)
I loved my .264 win and .300win , bought a 308win , it will be my killing machine till I can buy a 6.5-284 norma , till then the easygoing recoil and easy to find factory loads 308 is staying put
i use a 100qt pelican ($250)for big ice storage and hauling meat
had a 75 bison ($350)for drinks and drink ice ,
just switched to a 77 lifetime ($175) for cold water and ice , it’s pretty dang good for Walmart
my recommendation is lifetime for price to ice holding value and a couple of big ice...
I chose 6.5 PCR, as a guide/ outfitter , I think the recoil of a .300 makes some people flinch, especially people who don’t shoot them much except during a hunt, and women and child can handle a 6.5
a .300 is superior imo but I like when folks can shoot with redundant accuracy
My 2014 Silverado, shuts off and throws a code that says roll down drivers winDow to restart, runs for awhile then repeat process , usually @ a stop light or drive through.
weird
No, never
but I have been shot at by a hunter , luckily he missed
we where standing on a dirt road looking for blood of a wounded doe
and all bent over, when I hear what sounds like bee’s buzzing around
then I heard the rifle, looked and saw a truck about 300 yards away
and ran into the brush ...
