So I have always put tape on the end of the muzzle to protect from rain/derbies going down it. I now have a couple rifle that have threaded ends and have a couple muzzle breaks. My questions is if you tape a muzzle break does it affect accuracy?? Its so cold and windy at home I haven't tried...
I have the Savage Ultralight in 6.5 PRC. The fluted bolt is very chattery, you can feel the fluting when cycling the bolt. Now that I've shot it quite a bit the bolt has gotten lots smoother. Check the rate of twist for the barrel on the Tikka, I don't know what it is, at least 1:8 is really needed
Browning X bolt 7mm mag. Did everything to that rifle to make it shoot. It was a spray gun. Down the road. And Savage rifles. Everyone brags on accuracy, I own several and now all have a non savage barrel on them. THAT is the only reason I will ever buy another one, I now have the tools and...
I went to Yellowstone park 8-9 years ago. One and done. Anyhow while driving around looking you see the crowds of people looking so you stop. I asked what are you guys looking at, they were running back to their cars to get camera's. A bunch of people said a wolf!!! a wolf!!! Ok, well I just...
My cpap had a power inverter option. I hook up to a 12 deep cycle battery. Usually lasts 7-10 days. Not sure what I'm going to do on a back country hunt yet...
Hammer bullets has a web site with load data on it so you may want to sign up to it. I do believe there will be some info there that will help you out. There are 2 different pages of load development, one for hammer hunters and one for absolute hammers. DO NOT MIX THEM UP
As a non resident I'm always shocked to see the price a resident hunter in Montana pays for a elk or deer tag. I live in MN and pay 38 bucks for a deer tag. Whats the price of a resident Montana elk or deer tag??? And when is the last time the price of a resident tag was increased??
Not 1 skeleton. So I do not know what happened. Did they get EHD or did they move. I the spots we usually hunted in the past that had deer we checked and there was water in the stock ponds. And where there was 2 spots with what we would consider the "normal" amount of deer it seemed no...
Just got back from helping my son with his deer hunt. We covered 5 times the amount of ground we did last season. We saw lots of deer last season as in the past 3 years. This year we saw only about 20% of the number of deer we did years past. It was shocking to say the least.
Nope. How is one supposed to go on a long trip with one of those electrics?? I usually drive out in a day and its usually a 10-14 hour drive. Not going to do that in an electric and pull a trailer and then throw in the cold??? Not happening.
To many on the bucket list for me.
1 Brown Bear
2 Mountain Goat
3 Timber Wolf
That would be my top 3 pick in North America. Would love to do a safari in Africa but thats not a bucket list is a 55 gallon barrel list
I bought a 570 mid size last year. Put on glass front windshield and polycarbonate back window and a poly top and soft side doors. Also heat. Cab doors come off real easy. The heater??? Well its not much of a heater. However I need to plug of some places in the cab that let huge amounts of...
They don't work in every rifle. I have a 6.5 PRC and nope. Won't shoot the 124's.
And I have a 7mm rem mag that will not shoot the 143 HH or the 150 shock hammers. And I find seating depth is also important with hammers. All be it maybe not quit as picky as others but it does take some messing...
I have found in the hammer hunters that they ARE sensitive to seating depth. However they are not as sensitive as barnes bullets. This is in 3 7mm rem mags and a rem 260. That was with 143 hammer hunters in .284 and 123 hammer hunters in .264. So far I am happy with performance but mine is...
