    Heading to 16B tomorrow morning for 1st season archery, 3 people coming with me so we'll be able to divide and scout and then 4 to packout. I have areas on the North of the unit picked out and hoping to get in far enough to stay away from day hunters, but close enough that it wont be a long packout. Any pointers you could provide based on your experience from a couple of years ago? Thanks Chad

    allang22 - we had a good time but we were never really feeling like we were in the right place. I posted an update on my thread with a lot of info... we spent time in three different areas. We made it up to Diamond creek on the 2nd afternoon and hunted there the 3rd day as well.

    We camped along the east fork of the Gila and it seemed like an area that elk would have liked... I saw them there last summer. But we just didn't ever see any bulls. Has me scratching my head about what to do next year.
