  • Hey man, I saw you hunted 21B New Mexico last year? I have a few areas I'm going to check out did u have any luck?
    Any help appreciated
    SCliving,
I’ll keep this brief. I’m a 22 year old in North Idaho looking for some new spots to hunt Black Bear! I’ve mainly hunted private and am looking to broaden my locations. It’s late in the season but if you’re willing I’d like your input on tips and general locations to try since you had great success! Thanks!

    Cameron,
I’m not sure where you’d focus this late in the year. My success this fall was bc of my friend that lives in Twin Falls and loves bear hunting. He took me to one of his spots he’s been hunting his whole life. This was my first western fall bear hunt, but I see bears while hunting deer and elk every fall. Based on past experiences I’d hike in and glass cannons until you find one.

Also, talk to other hunters you come across. Most guys out in the fall aren’t bear hunting so they’ll share that info. Good luck.
    Stan,
Awesome trophies! I have two gator points for SC and plan on building some deer points. The SC lottery website says most people draw gator with 3 points so I should be drawing next year. Are any of the public draw units for deer worth applying for? Webb WMA seems to be popular. I am moving to Georgia end of month and am excited to hunt some East Coast Whitetails.

Just FYI point creep has caught up with the gator draw. I know multiple residents who didn’t draw with 3 points this year. I think moving forward it will be 4-5 points for residents and more then that for non residents. Where in GA are you moving? I don’t apply for any of the SC deer draw hunts. The hunting on the regular public land is plenty good enough if you put in the time.
