My OCD curse is without a doubt the sound of rattles and squeaks that I pick up from mostly the vehicles I drive. My dear old dad would tell me I need to turn up the radio to resolve them, but that approach never had a chance. Thankfully, we now have the Internet and social media forums where we can seek solace and advice from others who share the same mental disorder. After doing just that, I was finally able to resolve a squeak in the rear brakes of old 2010 Tacoma (222K miles) and must admit the source was something that I suspected but for some odd reason refused to address. (Who knows, perhaps not following your gut is another disorder many of us probably share.) I could only hear the squeak when releasing the brake pedal. Anyway, should have followed my gut and applied a little brake grease to the areas where the shoes rest against the backplate.
Dash rattles are another trigger for those who suffer from this affliction.
