Congrats on a well earned trophy. Region G is a special place and you should be proud. I was fortunate to hunt and I saw right many nice bucks during the last week. It is rugged country and i hope to hunt it again one day.

The pack out was pretty much a controlled slide down the scree. I didn’t see any bears, but I ran into an outfitter who was checking bear baits and had parked his ATV next to my truck as I was packing up to go home. He showed me some trail cam pics, including one very large bear. I found out that I was parked 1/4 mile from a bait site. I wouldn’t have slept as well the night before after packing out the first half of my deer had I realized my proximity to a bait being visited by such a big bear.
