Just got back from an early rifle elk hunt in the Wind River Mountains. What an incredible hunt!
I don't post all that often, so hopefully I do this right. The photos show up in the preview, so maybe i didn't screw it up too bad.
Packed in the day before the season, the views were incredible as always. Camp is in the left hand portion of the second photo. Ten minutes into opening morning, this raghorn came in to investigate my cow calls.
Actually passed up shots at six bulls in the first two days, not something I am used to doing. Had close calls all week long, before success on day seven. Chased this bull and three others for about three miles before I caught up and convinced this one to show himself at 200 yards:
What a great hunt it was!!
