WWII Roe deer???

Great thread. Got me thinking about my dad's service during WWII and the impact on all us boomers born after the end of the war. Lots of gun training and hunting for me and my siblings for one thing.

I agree with others that they were truly the greatest generation. I'm not sure why but I don't think we have story tellers like that today.

That had to shot in England since we didn't get to France until 1944. My dad who fought in the Battle of the Bulge said they killed lots of deer and loved to eat venison instead of C-rats. Since my dad was from Wisconsin and had hunted deer all his life he and his buddy would go on meat hunts for the squads.

They are roe deer that he harvested.

Very easy to get antlers back from overseas countries provided the skulls or skull plate are boiled well and no meat attached. Capes and hides are different, thats when customs like to really look at things to check for blood, meat and potential bacteria.
