Was surprised I couldn't find (in 5 minutes of searching) a worn out boot picture thread. Ironically I'm not even posting a picture of my boots...replacing my blown out insoles with close to 1k mi on them.

I believe I bought these in 2001 to replace another pair of Redwing boots that were almost 20 years old.
I've had them resoled twice. I only wear them for hunting in dry conditions, camping and fishing. Back then they were still made in the USA, don't know if that still applies. They have been darn good boots. (y)

I want to laugh at nearly every pic. But some are impressive. Haha don’t you all buy like hundreds of dollars in beer and gas and broadheads and arrows and maintenance on your truck boat camper atv etc??? Can’t get some $200 danners for the next two years?!?

Not me man. I’ve never paid $200 for a pair of boots, and I never plan to.

Also, the most I’ve ever paid for a firearm was $600. My most recent purchase was a $90 shotgun.

My goal is to make the hunting industry go broke trying to advertise to me.

My danners were 180 and I gritted my teeth spending that much. Got my bow from a friend for 400 turn-key.. and it’s a cannon. My 07 PSE keeps up with my bro’s 2020 model. I’m a budget shopper as well. But man some of these boots would have got the can years ago IMO. Footwear is pretty important here in Montana

Interesting thread, I don’t have any pics of mine, I never thought anyone would care to see em! I had a pair of fantastic Danners once and I once spent around $400 on a pair of Scarpas, I’ve also had a whole string of Merrels and other junk that cost a fraction of the Scarpas. I think I’ve finally learned my lesson when it comes to hiking boots. I have gotten what I paid for. After last weekends 15 miles in the mountains it made me realize I should have not been a tightwad and bought more Scarpas or other high end boot… Pay $100 4 times or $400 once, and the expensive ones have come with less foot problems too.

I finally after years of sub par boots broke down and bought some crispi Nevada’s, hope they pay off and are worth the price tag. Ouch.

Crispi Nevada’s after 3 years. They packed out 3 elk and 2 deer from the back country, been on 3 antelope hunts, and 3 seasons of trapping. 3 years may not seem like much but I put them through a lot of miles in those 3 years. Hunting alone accounts for approx. 500 miles. But trapping is the silent boot killer. You aren’t doing any 10-15 mile days so you don’t realize how much you beat them up trapping but I figure about 5 miles per trap check on average. Checking traps 2 days a week, for 12 weeks. So 120 miles per season on the sharp rocks of southern Nevada. Now add those up plus scouting and it’s safe to say I’ve put over well over 1000 miles on these boots. Got a fresh par after the last trapping season so now I’m on to fresh boots.

*Disclaimer……Crispi will tune up your boots and add new soles for about $75. Haha but I went a little to far and mine weren’t repairable. This new set will be sent in before they get this bad.

24 year old Chippewa snake boots. These boots have seen a lot of action over the past 24 years. They dealt another round of death last Friday.

Bringing back this thread to report that after working yesterday at a friend’s ranch where we hunt, my boots (post #2 above) had kicked their last clod and it was time to retire them to the garbage can. I bought a new pair of boots this morning and already started breaking them in.

RIP Wolverine steel-toes, 2007-21.
