While chasing exotics last weekend I bumped into this guy. I hope to find a few more this winter.

Animalia, Chordata, Aves, Strigiformes, Strigidae, Bubo, scandiacus

There was one around here last year as well. I'm hoping he makes a return, I'd like to see one without too much travel.

Sorry, thats what happens when I've do too much office work too many days in a row. That should be enough to figure it out though.

Here is something I always thought was a little strange to go along with Millers awesome photography.

You'll see a bunch of them in AK but still seems weird.

Sweet photo. Saw one last weekend. Don't see them often.

I'm only 340 pelts short of finishing my pika parka.

MTMiller, that's a tough shot with a white bird sitting darker post, good job.

It's an owl....:D

Thanks. The light was piss poor, but take what they give you. I actually saw one while hunting deer in SD (mid-November), but it was much more skitish. I have only seen one or two mature males (pure white). Hopefully I can find one this year while packing my camera later this year.

Those are the symbol of my fraternity. We had a taxied one in the house at one time, but house to house frivolity led to its disappearance.

Great pics. I hope to see at least one this winter along the way. I wonder how many are hunted in AK? and I wonder what they do with them? Eat them?
