As backcountry hunters, the ability to apply first aid to ourselves or others can be a matter of life or death. I took the NOLS Wilderness First Aid a few years ago and found it pretty useful for basic info. Most of my classmates were college kids working at summer camps or the granola crowd. I raised a couple of eyebrows by bringing in a few arrows (without broadheads, of course) to use as splints.

I’m due to recertify this year, though. Anyone in Colorado interested in getting a group of hunters together to do a class? Let me know and I’ll try to find a class with openings for us.

I would be interested and would likely have 2-3 employees do it as well. Can never have enough hands on first aid training in my line of work.

If you're looking for an instructor, Peter Muckermann (First Lead, llc) out of Telluride does a great Wilderness First Responder class. We had him teach 2 classes for us in the past.

Would like to get my WFR certification eventually but right now I’m just looking at reupping my WFA cert. Thanks for the lead, though.
