Hey all,
New guy from WI here. My first big game animal ever was an Antelope when I was 12. A guy my dad worked with brought us to eastern WY on a hunt and I’ve been hooked on “out west”. That was bad when you had to mail in for an application book and there was no internet. Honestly, it ruined me for hunting back home since I just HATE tree stand hunting.
After that, we came out Mule deer hunting for a lot of years. For some reason Elk seemed unachievable and a much bigger deal. Several years ago, I really started researching the elk stuff. Since then, in the last 5 years either me or a first time elk hunter I was with have killed bulls 4/5years. I feel like the glassing I learned Mulie hunting has a big part in that.
Anyway, I have a 10yo daughter and 6yo son that both seem interested in hunting so that will be a fun journey over the next few years. They already live the outdoors and fishing.
This year, when I got home from my elk hunt, my wife who has never hunted decided she wants to try it next year. I’m crazy excited for that.
