Hold on just a while longer MD...the uberliberal poseurs will explain the constitutional/moral ramifications any time now. Their outrage will be your ...'why.'

So you guys are all for eliminating the "freedom of religion" aspect of the constitution??? Just a question from someone who has never been "uber" anything and most certainly not a liberal. Personally, I am all for the English only part of that article. I also agree that immigrants should do their utmost to adapt to our country.

"So you guys are all for eliminating the "freedom of religion" aspect of the constitution??? "

I think the point is that if your idea of freedom of religion means not following the laws and rules of the land than maybe your in the wrong country. Maybe I misread but I didn't see anything encroaching on freedom of religion.

There was an news report that in Germany an Islamic woman was denied a divorce because it was against "Sharia" Law, which is law according to the Koran. That is a double standard and is wrong. If your in Germany, you should live by German law, same with the US.

The concept of Sharia Law violates the Constituional separation of Church and State. While the church can provide "moral" guidance, it has no business in making law. Unless of course it's my church making that law. Oh, I belong to the "First Church on the Right in Brawley California".
